Along with Noah's cerebral
palsy comes some communication problems and speech delays. Sometimes
it can be so frustrating for all of us!! When Noah began learning sign
language ( or ASL which means American Sign Language), it was a way for
him to finally talk to his family!! And he LOVES being able to sign and is
constantly learning new words. Because some of the signs require
fine motor skills, Noah adapts them to what he can do. On this page - we
want to share Noah's favorite signs as well as some ASL links!
"Love" This was the first sign Noah could independently sign by himself. When he first learned to sign it, he was so proud and would sign it constantly!!
"More" Noah uses this sign a lot!!
"Dog" Since dogs are Noah's favorite animal, he signs this a lot too!!
"Eat"
"Computer" The thumb of the right 'C'
"Sleepy"
The palm is facing the face and is then pulled down and closes to represent the eyes closing. The head pulls down to further emphasize that a person is sleeping.
