The Joy
of Christmas!
Christmas Day 2004
(As told by Noah's Mom)

No one told me Christmas was MORE joyous as a parent.........
This Christmas was unlike any other and is definitely a Christmas I will never forget. Leading up to Christmas, Noah was more excited than any other year. I have always wanted to do with Noah a lot of the same activities that my Mom did with me, but Noah has never been interested. But this year, we were able to bake cookies together, make ornaments, read the story of Baby Jesus' birth, and just have fun during winter break. (He STILL didn't want to help with putting up the Christmas tree though!)
For the first time, Noah truly was just like a kid at Christmas! He didn't want to go to sleep on Christmas Eve because he was so excited that Santa would come. He woke up at 4:45 in the morning. (My parents loved this part!! I used to wake up many times on Christmas Eve night.) I made him stay in the bed with me and J until about 6 am. Noah and I just snuggled in bed and watched TV and talked until FINALLY I let him go wake up Nana and Grandaddeee. (We spend Cmas Eve night at their house and they get to wake up and see what Santa brought Noah too!)
When Noah finally made it to the
living room to see what Santa brought him, he was very excited. He had been
wanting this easy reader book that reads the story to you. He was soooo excited
when I pointed it out to him. It may be hard for you to believe, but this truly
is the first time Noah has been that excited about Christmas. We all just sat
and watched him. My Mom looked at me and said "We waited 8 years for this,
didn't we?" And she was right, we did. And so we just all sat there
laughing, talking, watching Noah, and being a family while Noah laughed and
giggled and signed "Santa" and "book" over and over!
It really was pure joy........

Here is Noah crawling in the living room to see what Santa brought him!

Noah looking at his book. This is his favorite thing that Santa brought him! It talks and reads the story to him!

Noahie got more books as well!
