Since Darcy's death, J and I have found great comfort in SHARE Atlanta, an organization for parents who have lost pregnancies and babies. SHARE decorates a tree in the Festival of Trees each year and asks parents to send in an ornament in memory of their angel baby. We chose an ornament for Darcy and sent it in and knew then that we wanted to see the tree.

We did see the tree and lots of other trees too! The Festival was amazing! There was at least 100 trees, a small ice rink with ice skaters, kiddy roller coaster, a gingerbread town, and more....

The theme of the tree was "Little Stars - Forever in Our Hearts" and was decorated with twinkling lights, teddy bears, angels, and stars and hearts with each baby's name written on it.

My thoughts:
December is proving to be a hard month for me. With Darcy's due date being on the 16th, the holidays, and just stress in general, I appear to be having a rough time. Getting out of town and seeing the tree, was healing and relaxing!

The tree was amazing. There were so many hearts and stars with baby names on them. It made me feel less alone. It was very sad though - to know that my way of spending my baby's first Christmas was by visiting a Christmas tree. We stayed at the tree for awhile. I just stared at it and didn't want to leave it. We met another set of parents who have an angel baby. Their baby has been in heaven for a little while longer than Darcy and they are expecting again, so that gives me HOPE! I had a little breakdown and shed some tears, but after a little bit, I was ready to say good bye to the angel tree and try to have a little fun!

You can read the Litany produced by SHARE. This is a list of all the babies names on the tree. Darcy's name is near the bottom of the list. :)
