For Coley and Darcy

When she woke this morning,
Only her child's' life was on her mind
She was going to the doctor
To see that tiny beat and hear the pleasant sounds
of her little ones heartbeat and fluttering all around.

Overjoyed with love and anticipation,
As she waited in the room.
She gently rubbed her pregnant belly
whispering a sweet little "we love you."

She gently told her little baby,
"Now's your time to shine;
We've proved the doctors wrong before,
let's do it again once more".

Her heart racing and her palms all a sweat,
She crawled upon that table
With hope in her heart and her hands upon her lap.
The doctors placed the scope on her tummy and
They awaited the triumphant thump,
But she could see that look in their eyes
And knew this would be goodbye.

As the doctor raised her head to look her in the eye,
All she could say was "No, this is not her day to die."
So for a 2nd opinion she would travel;
Still numb from all she'd heard
Hoping they were wrong again and that this life was still with her.
 

I'm sad to say Darcy became an angel that day
And now with  God she will remain.
Their lives will never be the same
Because their eyes will never meet.
Although her heart beat will always be within her own
and her picture in her heart.
