you and I bonded right from the start,
And immediately you found a special place in my heart.
The day the doctor told us the bad news
I did not want to listen, I wanted to refuse.
That’s the day that God called you home,
And left me, your mommy, empty and alone.
In a better place, is where they remind me you are,
Sweet baby of mine, you are now our bright shining star.
I know those words are meant to comfort me
As I face this dreary reality.
Each day I am reminded that we are apart
As I slowly try to mend my broken heart.
Sweet baby of mine, I must say goodbye but this isn’t the end,
Because when I get to heaven, we will meet again.
